Economic Development

Launches Bilingual Website

Although the new Comox Valley Economic Development website has been live for only 4 months, investcomoxvalley.com, which supports business retention & expansion and drives strategic investment attraction, is pleased to announce the launch of its new bilingual site.

The francophonecomoxvalley.com website translation project, funded by the Federal Community Investment Support Program and the Francophone Affairs Program Intergovernmental Relations, was translated in partnership with the Association Francophone Vallee de Comox (Comox Valley Francophone Association) to support the community’s efforts in immigration attraction, business retention & expansion and investment by francophone speaking individuals and businesses.

Destination Canada Shows

Attract Skilled Labour

Economic Development, together with the Association Francophone Vallee de Comox, participated in the Provincial and Federal Government Destination Canada shows held in Paris, Lyon and Brussels late November. This was part of a larger effort to address the region and Canada’s growing labour force shortages.

The team, armed with job opportunities from local resorts and businesses interviewed and met with over 300 French and Belgium citizens interested in moving to the region for work and investment opportunities. Below is a link to a series of articles about the Destination Canada Show in Paris.
