K'omoks Forestry Company

K’omoks First Nation Forestry Corporation will respect and honour the community values of the K'ómoks First Nation and their members while pursuing economic opportunities in forest and value added forest sectors to provide sustainability and self-sufficiency for future generations.  From log/post and beam buildings to sawmill waste management, from custom cutting to tree planting, incredible things are happening in the K’omoks First Nation Forestry Corporation. Established in 2005 the corporation has five distinct areas of operation.

Log/Post and Beam Buildings
Offering the production of log/post and beam buildings to be sold as semi-finished shells or a full finished buildings. Also offer the production of log picnic tables, benches and other log furniture.

Salvage and Sawmill Waste
Cut and split firewood, sawdust and peelings.

Mobile Dimension Sawmill
Production of rough sawn lumber, posts and beams for building projects, the log/post and beam building initiative and to sell into the local, domestic and export markets. Also provides custom cutting both on and off-site.

Woodlot Licence
Production of approximately 8000 cubic meters annually from the Woodlot Licence areas to supply the log building initiative, the company’s sawmill and to be sold on the open domestic and export markets.

Silviculture
A silviculture crew that would complete tree planting, brushing and weeding, browse guard maintenance, juvenile spacing, hand fertilization and pile burning for private forest-land owners and forest licensees.
