Get your Name Approved (131KB)
The name approval form can be downloaded and filled out and brought down to the Comox Valley Economic Development office to get your name approved. This process takes approximately 24 hours.

Becoming a Partnership or a Proprietorship
One of the primary reasons for registration of a Proprietorship/Partnership is so the public can identify and locate the individuals involved in the business.

Incorporating your Company (Provincially & Federally)
To incorporate a company in BC, the Business Corporations Act states that one or more persons may form a company by entering into an incorporation agreement, establishing articles for the company which sets out its rules for conduct and by electronically filing with the Corporate Registry an Incorporation Application.

Become a Non Profit Organization
When starting a non profit society one must understand that any funds or profits must be used only for the purpose of the organization itself. Funds or profits cannot be distributed to a member of the society without the member giving appropriate compensation to the society first.
